AMBU STRENGTHENS URETEROSCOPY PORTFOLIO WITH SUCTION ACCESS SHEATH
30.10.2026 10:04:25 CET | Ambu A/S | Press release
Ambu launches a new flexible and navigable suction access sheath (FANS), enabling a more complete ureteroscopy solution for urologists treating patients with kidney stones.

Copenhagen, Denmark, 30 October 2026 – Ambu, the global leader in single-use endoscopy, today announces an addition to its Urology portfolio: a flexible and navigable suction access sheath (FANS) designed for use with Ambu® aScope™ 5 Uretero during urolithiasis procedures (kidney stone removals).
Because every kidney stone procedure is unique, urologists need to maintain a clear field of view and manage irrigation throughout each case. Ambu’s FANS access sheath combines flexible navigation with continuous suction to remove fluid, stone fragments, and dust, helping urologists navigate challenging anatomy and support stone removal.
Adding FANS to its ureteroscopy portfolio enables Ambu to offer urologists a more comprehensive stone management solution, while helping unlock and capture more value per procedure. Further, this strengthens Ambu’s differentiated Urology offering, which includes high-quality single-use endoscopes, the Company's innovative EndoIntelligence™ technology platform, and complementary accessories.
“Our new flexible suction access sheath is another example of how we are expanding beyond the endoscope to build more complete and differentiated solutions for our customers,” says Britt Meelby Jensen, CEO of Ambu. “By bringing together our endoscopes, EndoIntelligence, and complementary accessories, we can create more value for healthcare partners and patients. This strengthens our position in Urology and advances single-use solutions as the standard of care in endoscopy.”
From November 2026, Ambu's FANS access sheath will be available in the U.S. and Europe. FANS is offered in two market-specific versions: an FDA-cleared version for the U.S. and a CE-marked version for Europe.
